Written Notice of Proposed Initiative and 1st Printer's Proof is to be filed with the Clerk and Recorder on county issues. [C.R.S. 31-11-106 (1)]
The Clerk has 5 business days to approve/disapprove the Proof. [C.R.S. 31-11-106 (1)]
Notices may be filed from January 22 to July 20, 2007.
Signatures - 5% of registered voter's signatures are needed and the number is set as of the day the Notice is filed. The number is based on all registered voters - (Active/Inactive) in the database as of March 6, 2007. [C.R.S. 31-11-104 (1)]
Petitions are due July 20, 2007. This is the date applied in order to allow all other processes to be completed by Ballot Certification Date.
The Clerk has 30 calendar days after the filing of the petition to issue a Sufficiency/Insufficiency Statement. [C.R.S. 31-11-109 (3)]
The petitions are then presented to the Board of County Commissioners. [C.R.S. 31-11-104 (1)]
Ballot Certification deadline is September 10, 2007.
