VEHICLE HOURS 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Monday –
Friday. Titles and plates will be processed from 8:00 am -
4:30 pm only; Renewal tags are processed all day.
The Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder’s office is responsible for vehicle registration, titling and issuing license plates.
You may pay for your license fees with personal checks, cash or credit cards. NOTE: There is a 2.7% fee for using credit and debit cards and a $1.00 flat fee for electronic checks.
Effective July 1, 2006: Regardless of purchase date, the only
person(s) that may pick up a title, registration and/or plates at
the county must be a named owner of the vehicle. If not named
on the paperwork, an original notarized power of attorney will be
required.
